The Institute for Translational Sciences’ Translational Research Scholars Career Development (ITS Scholars) program is accepting applications for funding. The competing award for this current call for applications is the ITS Scholars’ Provost’s Scholar Award, which is similar to the KL2 Scholar award, in the monetary and mentorship support that it provides, but also has a significant component of institutional funding which forms the support mechanism. This early mentored research career development program aims to provide a mentored research experience leading to external funding of a research program in clinical and/or translational research. Early-stage investigators with a doctoral degree and full- time appointments at UTMB at the level of Assistant Professor are eligible to apply.
The Scholars award provides salary support for at least 75% of a university base salary for protected research time, as well as additional support for research supplies, coursework, and conference travel. The application instructions and more information may be found on the ITS website
• Final completed applications are due on October 15, 2020.
