Last month, Dr. Randall J. Urban, Director of the Institute for Translational Sciences, spoke to the board of the Texas Academy of Medicine, Engineering, Science and Technology about research at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).

As Vice President of Research and Chief Research Officer of UTMB, Dr. Urban described the institution's research strategic plan and the six integrated health communities that bring together researchers, educators, clinicians, and communities members to transform illness into health.
