Assistant Professor Tiziana Corsello-Gorgun, PhD, a Provost Scholar in the ITS Scholars Program, received an American Lung Association Catalyst Award for two years of funding to support her research on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections.
RSV infections are one of the most common respiratory illnesses of childhood. Dr. Corsello-Gorgun's work seeks to better understand chemical messengers that are sent between airway cells during RSV infection, with an eye toward developing new treatment strategies.
